Stock index recovers

Accra, Aug. 11, GNA - The main index of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) rose by 17.53 points in quiet trading on Wednesday that saw only two price appreciations.

The GSE All-Share Index went up 17.53 points to reverse a 15.99 points loss it suffered on Monday to go up to 7,358.22 points from 7,340.69 points.

Change for the year stands at 107.07 per cent.

Market capitalisation ended up marginally at 97,863.72 billion cedis compared to 97,818.77 billion cedis.

On the broader market there were two price changes. Clydstone gained 55 cedis at 1,600 cedis and Cocoa Processing Company regained the 50 cedis it lost on Monday to close at 1,950 cedis.
