Stock indices fall again

Accra, July 13, GNA - The main indices of the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) fell again in trading on Wednesday under the weight of a significant loss by Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) that plunged the market deeper into the red.

The GSE-All Share index went down by 61.62 points at 5,395.17 points from Monday's close of 5,456.79 points. Change for the year-to-date now stands at -20.64 per cent. There were two price changes - one down one up. Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) lost 1,000 cedis at 9,000 cedis while CFAO gained nine cedis at 370 cedis.

Shares traded closed up at 90,000 from 26,300 shares on Monday. Market capitalisation was lower at 93,296.59 billion cedis from 93,459.57 billion cedis from 3,400.54 million shares.
