Stock market slumps on PBC loss

Accra, Oct. 27, GNA - The Accra bourse slumped in trading on Wednesday on the loss of Produce Buying Company (PBC) in quiet trading.

PBC lost 50 cedis at 3,550 cedis on a day that 47,000 shares changed hands from another low of 43,600 cedis on Monday.

The Ghana Stock Exchange All-Share Index, the main market indicator, went down by 9.26 points to 6,987.32 points from Monday's close of 6,996.58 points.

There were only two price changes, one up and one down. Fan Milk Limited gained one cedi at 20,001 cedis.

Change for the year was down at 96.64 per cent from 96.90 per cent on Monday.

Market capitalisation closed lower at 97,170.50 billion cedis compared to 97,194.48 billion cedis during the previous trading from 3,425.70 million issued shares.
