Accra, Dec. 19, GNA - Stock rallied on the Accra bourse on Friday as the main market index, the GSE All-Share Index, jumped up by 55.38 points on the strength of strong gains by several key equities. The GSE All-Share Index ended at 3,464.04 points from Wednesday's 3,408.66 points, bringing the change for the year to 148.26 per cent. Total shares traded, however, slumped to 64,100 from 216,700 shares.
There were seven price changes, all positive.
Three banking equities led the way. SSB Bank gained 1,000 cedis at 20,000 cedis and Ghana Commercial Bank was 300 cedis better at 8,100 cedis and Standard Chartered Bank the highest priced equity gained one cedi at 61,001 cedis.
Guinness Ghana Limited made 101 cedis at 5,501, British American Tobacco was 100 cedis better at 4,500 cedis, Unilever moved up by five cedis at 14,036 cedis and Enterprise Insurance Company gained one cedi at 9,001 cedis.
Market capitalisation rose to 12,391.03 billion from 12,251.17 billion cedis.
