Stratcomm Africa celebrates 20 years

Stratcomm Africa celebrates 20 years of Ghanaian spirit of enterprise!

Accra - 14th May, 2014 - Strategic Communications Africa Ltd., (Stratcomm Africa) has organised a commemorative event as part of the celebration of its 20th anniversary with the theme “Our story, your story… a vision pursued”.

The anniversary launch had in attendance clients and suppliers of Stratcomm Africa, business executives, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional authorities, members from academia, Ministers of state, family and friends as well as numerous media representatives.

Two staff members of Stratcomm Africa, Miss Gillian Baaba Heathcote Senior Manager, Communications and Mr. Benjamin Adumuah Annang a General Services Officer, were awarded for their dedicated long service and loyalty to the organisation.

Presenting the awards to the two, the Special Guest of Honour, Hon. Mrs. Nana Oye Lithur, Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection congratulated and encouraged the staff to continue working hard to pursue the company’s vision of excellent delivery. “I see that responsiveness to the needs of clients feature in what is being commended. A company whose business depends on services to client can only survive if priority is given to the needs of the clients.” she said.

In his speech, the guest of honour and keynote speaker, Professor Akilagpa Sawyerr, urged the public to be true to excellence stating that “The Company we are celebrating, Stratcomm Africa, is today a leader in its field - in Ghana and beyond. This status reflects the company’s insistence on excellence and high standards in its work. That should be the model for all Ghanaian enterprises. So, among the messages we must take with us, is that MADE IN GHANA should not mean accepting poor quality, low productivity, inefficiency, unreliable services - and hiding it all behind the flag of Ghana!”

The Chairperson, South African High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Madam Jeanette T. Ndhlovu was represented by Ledile Rachel Bambo, Consular: Economic of the South African High Commission.

She said, “We are celebrating today a company that is a pacesetter in its field on our continent. I am here to encourage Stratcomm Africa to continue to lead the way, just as Ghana has done, thanks to President Nkrumah… Through the work of Stratcomm Africa, we are reminded of the importance of communication in ensuring social harmony, national development and international understanding as well as business success, among other things”.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Stratcomm Africa, Miss Esther Amba Numaba Cobbah, told the story of the humble beginnings of the company to encourage others to persevere in their various missions to make a difference and have an impact on the Ghanaian economy.

“The enterprise that is today Stratcomm Africa started, initially with a volunteer and, then, with one young graduate employee sharing a study table across which training in the communication discipline began, with a view to developing valued services and products for both the public and private sector, which would make a difference to the lives of people ... Our story could be your story; it IS your story, wherever you were born in Ghana, in Africa, indeed, in the world!” shared Miss Cobbah.

Ms Cobbah also paid tribute to family members of staff members and her family who continue to travel the journey with the organization as well as Stratcomm Africa clients, suppliers, partners and media colleagues.

Stratcomm Africa has lined up a yearlong celebration designed to benefit local communities as well as the public and private sectors.
