TECHNO unveils its S3M smart phone

Leading dual sim mobile phone manufacturer, TECNO Mobile, in partnership with Ghana’s telecommunication giant, MTN, has launched its new TECHNO S3M smart phone in Accra.

Equipped with 4.2 Android, the device supports 3Gnetwork and allows users to experience unlimited internet connectivity from MTN.

The S3M phone also comes with a front and back camera, speakers, 4gigabite memory and 512 megabite Random Access Memory.

Speaking at the launch, General Manager of Operations at TECHNO Ghana, Derrick Nkrumah said the decision to produce such an affordable phone is borne out of the company’s aim to make smart phones accessible to all Ghanaians.

According to him, users of S3M phone will get 200 megabite of data for 12 months together with 65 minutes of voice call each month.

The Operations Manager also revealed that TECHNO Ghana is also upgrading its service centres across the country to provide an efficient after sales service to customers.

Mr. Nkrumah said they are working assiduously to set the pace in the local mobile phone market to gain the goodwill of customers in the country.

“S3M, as a highly innovative and pocket-friendly device onto the local market, emphasize how serious the company takes the local consumer”, he noted.

On his part, the Data and Device Manager at MTN, Nana Kwasi Osei Afrifa said with the launch of the S3M, the percentage of TECHNO users on MTN’s network will increase.

He said MTN Ghana will continue to partner with Original Equipment Manufacturers like TECHNO to develop affordable smart phones for customers, who have the desire to experience the digital age but cannot afford high-end-device.

The Data and Device Manager at MTN disclosed that MTN is investing over GH.C 311 million this year to enhance its network capacity, adding that it will also increase its 3G and fibre network so that customers can take full advantage of the digital age.

Nana Osei Afrifa therefore assured customers of an uninterrupted service because “we have the biggest network, which means people have entrusted us with the responsibility to deliver the best service and we are going to deliver on that”.
