Taptap Send, a leading global money transfer company, has announced the resumption of its operations in Ghana, effective immediately. Customers in the UK, Europe, Canada, the United States, and the UAE can once again send money to their loved ones in Ghana.
This development follows a brief suspension resulting from a directive by the Bank of Ghana. The temporary measure, which paused Taptap Send’s partnerships with local banks and fintechs in Ghana for one month, was related to the company’s newly launched wallet product.
The suspension was officially lifted on December 4, 2024, ahead of the initially planned one-month timeline. This decision allows Taptap Send to restore its trusted and convenient money transfer service that the Ghanaian diaspora has relied upon for years.
“We are thrilled to resume transfers to Ghana for the thousands of Ghanaians who depend on Taptap Send to support their families and stay connected,” Darryl Mawutor Abraham, Head of Taptap Send Africa said.
“We deeply appreciate the patience and support of our customers during the suspension. As always, we remain committed to serving the Ghanaian diaspora in full compliance with all applicable regulations,” he added.
Taptap Send emphasised that it looks forward to continuing its mission of empowering customers to support their families and communities with fast, reliable, and affordable money transfer solutions.
