Telecoms companies work at improving services

Telecommunication companies in the country are seriously working towards improving their infrastructure to offer quality services to customers.

General Manager of Tigo, Adil El Yousseffi, who made this disclosure when Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Communications, recently paid him a visit in his office at Accra, said telecommunications players have discussed general issues that would ensure the improvement of bandwidth capacity in Ghana.

It is also aimed at ensuring reliable access to a high speed internet, he noted.

The Tigo MD expressed appreciation to government for the support.

“We are very happy for the visit and the fact that you have a listening ear to our challenges. We are again happy with the projects that Government is planning to undertake which are aimed at growing the industry and to help players bring quality of service to our customers.”

Dr Omane Boamah, in a remark, particularly lauded efforts by Tigo Ghana to successfully share its communications assets with other telecommunications companies operating in the country.

“Tigo must be commended for availing itself and cooperating with the Ministry of Environment Science & Technology since 2010 when it was developing guidelines for the development of telecommunication towers in Ghana.

“It has demonstrated leadership in the area of co-sharing. So, I am not surprised that once again it is trumpeting Government’s view that we should engage much more in asset sharing.”
