An official trade delegation of Ukraine has started its work in Accra within the frames of the First Ukrainian Trade Mission in Ghana.

The delegation is headed by the Trade Representative of Ukraine – Deputy Minister for Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, Mrs. Nataliia Mykolska and also includes the representatives of the Export Promotion Office of Ukraine and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ukraine, the Deputy Minister for Agrarian policy and Food of Ukraine Mrs. Olga Trofimtseva, as well as representatives of 14 Ukrainian companies working in such industries as agrarian and food, automotive and aviation, engineering and IT-technology, chemical and pharmaceutical production.

This first ever Ukrainian Trade mission to Ghana aims to enhance the trade relationships between two countries as well as to study and discuss the system of export-import relations, trade barriers and legislative features. For this purpose, Ukrainian officials and businessmen will meet with officials and business representatives from Ghana at the Ghana-Ukrainian Business Forum held within the frames of the Trade mission on April 3. The program of the Mission also includes the on-site market research in local retail networks and the meeting with representatives of Ukrainian business diaspora in Ghana.

According to the results of 2017, trade turnover between Ghana and Ukraine grew by 70.5% and amounted to $ 193.58 million.

The Ukrainian products are in high demand on the African market. Among the top 30 commodities with the largest potential for export to Ghana, there are ferrous metals and products; live animals and products of animal; engines and pumps; alcoholic and non-alcoholic; electrical equipment.

After Ghana the Ukrainian delegation will continue its mission to Nigeria, where most business and governmental activities are going to be held on April, 4-6th.
