Mr John Watkins, General Manager of AMS, told the District Chief Executive of Wassa West, Mr Emmanuel Ayensu when he paid a visit to the scene, that the injured persons been flown to Accra for further treatment.

Mr Ayensu expressed his sympathy with the affected companies and called on them to take steps to avoid a future occurrence. Nana Kwadu Kyerefo III, Tufuhene of the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area, appealed to companies working in the AMS area to take precautions to avoid future fires.

He said this when he led a delegation of chiefs from the Wassa Fiase Traditional Council to express their sympathy to the affected companies.

Nana Kyerefo suggested that the AMS should operate its own fire tenders to enable them stop fires from spreading to other companies.
