Market women at the Makola and Tema Station markets have complained of decline in sales with the end of the festive season.
An interview with some traders by the GNA revealed that the increased prices of utility and petrol have affected sales.
The traders said they are selling highly perishable foodstuff at lower prices.
Madam Agnes Antwi, a tomato and garden eggs seller said the water vegetables are shrinking due to the harmattan and therefore does not look attractive for buyers.
A man who gave his name as Owusu, selling apparel for both adults and children said after the yuletide sales have gone down.
He blamed the increase in petroleum prices as a contributing factor to reduced sales.
