Trust Bank gives 100 million to institutions

Accra, Dec. 22, GNA - The Trust Bank on Tuesday donated more than 100 million cedis to three institutions and four individuals as part of its corporate responsibility to society.

Beneficiary institutions of the amount, which went into education and health sectors, were the Ghana Heart Foundation, which received 40 million cedis, the New Horizon School, 25 million cedis and the Adabraka Cluster of Schools, 30 million cedis.

In addition, four blind students of the University of Ghana had their first year fees of 7.8 million cedis paid for them.

Mr Paul Cardoen, Managing Director of the Bank, said the gesture was the Bank's way of contributing to the education and health needs of the people as well as the growth of society.

He explained that it was only natural that the Bank gave something back to the customers and people from whom it had made gains. Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Chief Executive of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, expressed his appreciation to the Bank and pledged that the money would be used to the benefit of the poor and vulnerable, especially children.
