Two Mitsubishi vehicles for NBSSI

The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) has received two Mitsubishi Pajero vehicles worth 93,000 US dollars to assist the Board in strengthening its activities.

The vehicles were donated by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on Monday, in Accra.

Mr Yu Kawahara, Project Formulation Advisor (Procurement), in presenting the vehicles, indicated that JICA and NBSSI have had a standing relationship over the years hence the need to support its activities.

Mr Kawahara pointed out that he was hopeful the donation would be useful to NBSSI, so they could work effectively to speed up their business strategies and activities for growth.

Mr Lukman Abdul- Rahim, Executive Director, NBSSI, who received the vehicles on behalf of the organization, said the move was laudable since it would help them improve on their productivity.

He said NBSSI in collaboration with JICA had initiated a Palm Oil project in the Ashanti Region which would help develop a strategic module for quality productivity in improving and strengthening the micro and small enterprises of the Ghanaian economy.

“The vehicles would facilitate the pilot project and build capacity for the staff of NBSSI as a good ground in serving the Business Development Services (BDS) and expanding the project across the country” he added.**
