Two companies donate to Taskforce

Accra, Aug. 20, GNA - Two companies, Sintex Containers Limited and Strongplast Limited, both plastic manufacturing companies, on Friday presented cheques valued at 62 million cedis and a number of litterbins to the National Plastic Waste Management Taskforce in Accra.

The Sintex made a presentation of 50 million cedis cheque and one hundred litterbins valued at 10 million cedis while the Strongplast Limited presented 12 million cedis cheque with 20 litterbins. The donors said the donations were made in fulfilment of pledges made to the Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama at the inauguration of the Taskforce to join hands with other stakeholders in making the city clean.

Mr Manoj Budhrani, Managing Director of Sintex, expressed the hope that the donations would help to minimise the filth that had engulfed some parts of the Metropolis.

Mr Ishmael Ashitey, Minister of State in charge of Trade, Industry and President's Special Initiatives, who received the gifts, said the items would be used for the benefit of the society and asked other organisations to emulate them.
