"Txt n pay" launches new mobile phone dimension

Accra, April 20, GNA- Afric Xpress, a mobile technology outfit on Friday presented their latest product "Txt n Pay" to selected corporate bodies and stakeholders in their quest to give mobile phone usage in the country a new dimension. Txt n Pay is a mobile phone based secured payment system that enable its users to send money to anyone with a mobile phone, pay bills, buy pre-paid airtime, check bank accounts and purchase goods and services.

Mr. Nvalaye Kourouma, Chief Executive Officer of Afric Xpress, during the presentation described Txt n Pay as a service that will contribute in creating a cashless society and also complement other initiatives currently underway to provide financial services to the un-banked population. This, he said, required a wide network of partners towards the realization of efficiency, hence the need to meet corporate bodies and stakeholders. Mr. Kourouma observed that his outfit is open for partnership with any company, institution or organization towards creating a real mobile commerce ecosystem in the country.

Dr. David O. Andoh, Executive Director of Ghana Microfinance Institutions Network (GHAMFIN) described the product as a useful tool following the fast rate of mobile usage across the country. Though he referred to mobile phone banking as very new, he expressed optimism that regulatory framework would become proactive towards promoting a friendly and enabling environment to stimulate the expansion of its use, especially in the rural areas. Meanwhile, the service is expected to hit the Ghanaian mobile market in the coming days.
