Corporate organizations and individuals have been asked to submit impactful proposals for funding from the UMB Foundation.
This was announced by the chief executive officer of the UMB Foundation, Yvonne Botchway, during the official launch of the foundation in Accra.
The UMB foundation is the corporate social responsibility wing of UMB bank, which is funded by UMB bank and UMB capital.
According to managers of the foundation, access to capital has become a challenge for some small scale and medium enterprises for execution of their projects.
CEO of the UMB foundation Yvonne Botchway was convinced projects that would be funded will make meaningful impacts on the lives of Ghanaians “We expect these projects to make a meaningful difference in the areas of education, health and the celebration and promotion of Ghanaian heritage and culture.”
Board Chairperson of the foundation Mrs. Grace Amey-Obeng stated that “from the perspective of its corporate sponsors, UMB Bank and UMB Capital, UMB Foundation was created to give back to the beautiful nation of Ghana that has contributed to the success of both UMB Bank and UMB Capital.”
She further commented that “corporate philanthropy through the creation of foundations is an effective, strategic and sustainable method of providing necessary assistance in key areas of need.”
