US Trade delegation visits Ghana

Ms Hannah Tetteh, Minister of Trade and Industry has said government has been able to put several measures in place that has made Ghana’s economy viable for foreign investment.

This she said, had won the confidence of foreign investor countries like the United States of America (US) to engage in bilateral trade with the country.

Ms Tetteh said this when she welcomed some US Trade Delegations into the country to explore and discuss ways of creating more investment opportunities for the economic growth of the country.

The Minister expressed gratitude to the delegation for the trust they have for the country and assured them of Ghana’s preparedness to collaborate with the US to strengthen their relations.

Mr. Ron Kirk, US Trade Ambassador, said the delegation intended to amplify the strong partnership that the two countries had built over the years.

He said the strong democratic credentials of Ghana had caused the US to be in the forefront of building its economy saying “for every development trade we have with developing counties, we have always chosen Ghana as one of our partners”.

Mr. Kirk said the two day visit was also to cement the relation between the two countries and to increase trade and investment opportunities to create more jobs in the country.**
