Ms Nilla Selormey, the Managing Director of Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), has been awarded the Africa Economic Champion Amazon Award in banking for her exemplary work in the banking industry.
The Centre for Economic and Leadership Development recognized Ms Selormey for her achievements in banking at the Africa Middle East Asia Women Amazon Awards Ceremony, in Dubai, on Friday.
The Africa Economic Champion Amazon Award is awarded to a female leader who has demonstrated leadership, excellence and impact in the banking sector.
A statement issued by the UMB said Ms Selormey expressed her gratitude for such a prestigious award, at the ceremony.
“Based on a sterling 24-year career in the banking industry that is filled with many accomplishments, the Centre for Economic and Leadership Development also inducted Ms Selormey into the Global Women Leaders Hall of Fame,” the statement said.
“With this induction, Ms Selormey joins an illustrious circle of women leaders, including former President of Malawi, Joyce Banda, and the Vice President of Zimbabwe, Joice Mujuru, amongst others.”
The Africa Middle East Asia Women Amazon Awards Ceremony was the highlight of a three-day Summit, which included attendees from all over the globe, including the First Lady of Ghana, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama.
The First Lady received the Global Inspirational Leadership Award.
