Acting CEO of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Edward Ekow Obeng-Kenzo, recently visited the Anwomaso 1 Thermal Power Plant in Kumasi, where he reaffirmed his commitment to revitalizing the Authority.
During the engagement, he urged all staff to unite in a shared mission to make the VRA a leading force in the country’s energy sector.
The visit offered a platform for both unionized and senior staff to participate in open discussions, raise concerns, and offer ideas on career development and the overall progress of the organisation.
Obeng Kenzo emphasised that every employee, whether in administration, finance, engineering, or technical roles, plays a critical part in the VRA’s success.
"When each of us understands our contribution to the bigger picture, achieving our collective goals becomes much easier," he stated.
A key highlight of his visit was the announcement of government-approved expansion projects for several thermal plants, which are set to commence in the near future.
These projects, he said, would significantly enhance Ghana's electricity generation capacity and support the government’s directive for the VRA to take a leading role in ensuring national energy security.
Obeng-Kenzo expressed optimism that these developments would pave the way for a stronger and more resilient VRA, one that can continue to meet the nation’s growing energy demands.
