The Chief Executive Officer for digital security surveillance experts Virtual Security Africa has advised government to adopt the use of digital monitoring stations in government institutions and flash points of the country to deal with crime, corruption and arson situations.
Mr. Emmanuel Sekyere Asiedu says digital monitoring technology is a panacea to the unsolved murders, robberies, bribery and atrocities on the countries highways and ports.
He says he has recommended to government to deploy a five central monitoring station with designated cameras across the country’s ports, government institutions and flash points to complement the security agencies’ fight against crime.
He said the benefits and cost analysis of digital security monitoring solutions should be weighed against the huge cost of patrolling the highways and maintaining daily security across the country.
He was speaking at a ceremony to inaugurate a digital security showroom for Virtual Securities Africa in Kumasi to serve the Northern sector of the country.
The Kumasi office is the fourth in Africa; the others are in Accra, Lome, Togo and Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso.
“Our focus now is the deployment of HD CCTV products based on HD-SDI (Serial Digital Interface) transmission technology; it is not only the first but, the best product currently on the market, Mr Asiedu said.
