Visiting American researchers visit industries

Tema, July 1, GNA - A thirteen-member team from the Fulbright Hayes Group Project, a US government educational exchange programme, currently on a month-long educational research programme in Ghana, has lauded Ghana for making strides in the industrial sector.

The team, comprising industrialists, political scientists, economists, social workers, education specialists and students, toured four industries in Tema as part of the programme and expressed satisfaction of their findings.

The members from Atlanta City were looking into the socio-economic, political and industrial culture of the country with a view to developing a curriculum on Africa using Ghana as a reference point. The members said they hoped to portray the African continent positively to the Western Media.

Led by Professor Kwaku Danso Boafo, the group toured the Cocoa Processing Company (CPC), Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Tema Development Corporation and the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority. They would also visit historic places at Cape Coast, Paga, Accra, Kumasi, Tamale, as well as Parliament House to experience the diversity of culture.
