Vodafone Ghana has dismissed 33 Territory Sales Managers across the country.
According to a publication by kasapafmonline.com, they have seen a letter signed by director, consumer business unit (Vodafone Ghana), Agnes Essah which says that the company is undergoing restructuring hence the decision to lay off the staff.
The said letter stated that the redundancy takes effect August 2, 2017, but they have been directed to exit the firm on May 2, 2017.
“We were not informed prior to the package being put together, we were called on phone and the next day the forms were brought to us and we were asked to sign.
It was really an ambush,” an affected staff told kasapafmonline.com on anonymity alleged. Meanwhile, Vodafone has decided to pay the affected staff three months salary in lieu of the notice period.
But the aggrieved staff say as senior staff, they never had personal negotiations with Vodafone Ghana before the exit package was prepared.
Vodafone Ghana refused to comment readily when YEN.com.gh contacted them.
