Vodafone commissions retail store on Oxford Street

Accra, July 8, GNA - The management of Vodafone Ghana, has launched a new state-of-the-art retail store on Ghana's most popular street, the Oxford Street at Osu in Accra.

The retail store features Vodafone's first 24 hour internet caf=E9 a= nd also 12 hour operating retail shop to cater for the needs of the telecommunication operator's customers. In a press statement issued to the Ghana News Agency, Vodafone said th= e facility was commissioned by Mr Vittorio Colao, Group Chief Executive Officer of Vodafone and Mr Haruna Iddrisu, Minister for Communications, as part of Mr. Colao's two-day business trip to Ghana.

It said the internet caf=E9 is equipped with a 29-seater terminal area and a 5-seater WiFi zone, which would deliver by far the fastest speed in Africa, of a minimum 40 MB per second.

The statement also said the facility is fully equipped with a document centre, which would enable customers to photocopy, scan, print, laminate, comb-bind and fax their documents.

It said Mrs Carmen Bruce-Annan, Head of Corporate Communications at Vodafone, noted that their presence on Oxford Street was another move by Vodafone to give customers the best experience in the most exclusive locations. Mrs Bruce-Annan said the opening of the first-ever 24 hr internet caf= =E9 would give their customers the convenience of accessing information at the fastest internet speeds in West Africa.

She said the facilities in the shop were also unmatched in terms of it= s equipment and service and believed they had set the standard by taking customer service to another level.

Mrs Bruce-Annan said being at the forefront of innovation and as part of its move to enhance customer experience, Vodafone's retail store also features the first ever live interactive display where customers could walk in and experience the latest devices on display such as the galaxy tab, laptops and blackberry handsets. She said the commissioning of the retail store was part of Vodafone'= s plan to rollout a chain of new stores across the country.
