Vodafone supports Oguaa Education Fund with GH¢3,000

Cape Coast, May 19, GNA - Vodafone Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢3,000 to the Oguaa Traditional Council to support the Oguaamanhen's Educational Fund. It also donated some of the company's mobile phones and accessories to the council.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Vodafone Ghana, Mr David Venn, commended Nana Kwesi Atta II, the Paramount Chief of Oguaa Traditional Area, for setting up the fund to support needy children from the area and expressed the hope that the fund would expand educational opportunities for citizens of Cape Coast.

He said the company would continue to contribute to the development of local communities and it was towards that direction that the company had started deploying community SIM phone booths in rural and peri-urban communities across the country to ensure that as many Ghanaians as possible have easy access to telecommunications. Mr Venn said 200,000 pounds had been voted to enable Vodafone Ghana Foundation to support local communities and to protect the environment in the Company's catchments areas.

Nana Kwesi Atta expressed gratitude and appealed to the company not to make profit its only motive but also to ensure it delivers quality services to its customers.
