Dr Ibrahim Anyars, Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) has said the Volta region has about 7,000 beneficiaries of NABCO out of a total 100,000 young people engaged in seven modules of the programme.
He said the Ho Municipality alone has 700 members, who were paid a stipend of GHC700.00 per month.
Dr Anyars said this at the Volta Regional Town Hall Meeting organised by the Ministry of Information.
He said the country spent some GHC70 Billion ($12 million) monthly on the beneficiaries.
Dr Anyars said a dream of transforming the country, develop and prepare the intellectual capacity of the graduates could be a guarantee for the country's development.
He said the Scheme aimed at improving productivity and building integrity in the future workforce of the country would offer each beneficiary $5,000 by the time the programme ended.
"I am proud to be part of this transformative programme fashioned by a forward-looking President," Dr. Anyars said.
