The Sekondi/Takoradi Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the weekend opened a second office at Elubo in the Western Region known as Western Chamber Co-operative Credit Union (WESCCU).

Mr Richard Bentil, Board Chairman of WESCCU, during the inauguration, said the idea of establishing a financial institution was born by members in 2010 to help meet financial needs of the business community.
He said the Takoradi office had chalked some remarkable successes adding; "we pray that the Elubo office will also grow and offer solutions to businesses around”.
Mr Cadmond Dadzie, Vice Chairman of STCCI, encouraged members of the credit union who benefited from the credit facility to do well to repay on time so that others could also benefit.
Mr Moses Andoh, Assemblyman for the Elubo Electoral Area, said the Elubo Community had many business opportunities and encouraged investors to take advantage and do business with the people.
He said businesses thrived on credit and hoped that the credit union would offer the needed assistance for businesses to thrive in the Elubo area.
"I believe that the credit union has come not only to provide business advice but also to provide credit to set up businesses or expand existing ones".
