513 women engaged in agribusiness have converged at Chances Hotel in the Volta Regional capital, Ho, to participate in Women in Food and Agriculture Leadership Forum and Expo, 2019 (WOFAGRIC’19).

The forum organised by Agrihouse Foundation is expected to build capacity of women who form majority of the workforce in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

The 2-days forum seeks to provide the platform to women operating in agribusiness to dialogue on impending issues and map-out solutions to ensure they benefit immensely from their respective endeavours.

There would be panel discussions, training programs, mentorship, empowerment and mentor pair-up sessions, presentations on career opportunities for women in agribusiness among others.

Participants are also expected to benefit from series of workshops to build their capacity to increase their yields and scale-up their agribusiness.

The empowerment session would see speakers who are already engaged and making gains in agribusiness share their stories in building their careers, challenges and success to motivate the participants.

There would also be panel presentation on Climate Smart Agriculture Approach and Practices aimed at providing guidelines to transform and change the agricultural systems being used to ensure food safety and quality.

Participants at the WOFAGRIC’19 would also be enlightened on how to start and manage an agribusiness, educated on women’s contribution to socio-economic changes, farming for export, promotion and development.

Other topics to be treated are marketing and branding in agribusiness, appropriate use of Agrichemicals and products, support systems and best practices in promoting agribusinesses, financial management and job creation.

Various Ghanaian products and agro inputs would be exhibited on the sideline of the forum.
