Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Stephen Amoah, asserts that the government has demonstrated its commitment to alleviating the burden on citizens by working tirelessly to stabilize the economy.

Dr. Amoah highlighted that despite the financial challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine war, the government has refrained from introducing new taxes, recognizing the hardships faced by the citizens.

He noted that the government has implemented various policies, including SME goals, to assist small-scale businesses with financial support to create jobs and aid Ghanaians.

“We have made significant efforts to increase government’s commitment by allocating substantial funds to areas such as LEAP, school feeding programmes, and the National Health Insurance Scheme,” Dr. Amoah stated.

He spoke on Accra-based Joy FM’s Newsfile.
