The Head of the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) in the Afigya-Kwabre District, Madam Mariana Kusi, has urged women entrepreneurs to stick to best practices to sustain the viability of their enterprises.
They should also keep proper book keeping and build stronger linkages to grow their businesses.
Madam Kusi was speaking at the opening of a training workshop being held under the rural enterprises project (REP) for over 50 unemployed women at Ntiri-Buoho.
They are being exposed to skills in soap and detergent making as well as soya bean processing.
The two-week programme is part of government’s effort to fight poverty and improve the socio-economic situation of the rural population.
Madam Kusi noted that a vibrant private sector held enormous promise for the economy – job and wealth creation.
She said supporting the small and medium enterprises to operate more efficiently should be made a number one priority.
She said they should be assisted with appropriate technologies and credit to expand.
The BAC Head said this was the path to travel to tackle the rising youth unemployment and lift the people out of poverty.
She advised the participants to take the training seriously and said it was in their own interest to raise household incomes.
