Workers are the axis of productivity – TEWU

Mr Ralph Apaayah, General Secretary of Teachers and Educational Workers Union (TEWU) of Trades Union Congress, has called on workers to see themselves as the axis upon which the success of their workplaces revolve.

This, he said calls for high calibre professionals who would exhibit the qualities of transparency, honesty and dedication.

Mr Apaayah made the call while addressing Accountants drawn from Ghana Education Service (GES) in Ho at the weekend.

He asked them not to approach their professional duties with ambiguity in order to gain the confidence of employers.

He said irregular activities such as forgery in the GES undermines the integrity of institutions under the service and affects smooth delivery of education.

In another development Mr Apaayah addressed a National Executive Committee meeting of TEWU in Sunyani, explaining that it served as a platform to improve the capacity members to take decisions which would propel the union to undertake viable projects.

It also gave them the orientation to serve their employees and the union effectively and efficiently, to be good team players and equip them to handle industrial disputes professionally.
