World Bank officials visit Breman-Asikuma

Breman Asikuma (C/R), June 7, GNA - The United States (US) Under-Secretary for the Treasury, Mr John Taylor who paid official visit to Ghana has called on the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Mr Sampson Kwame Anfako on Sunday.

Mr Taylor, who led a seven-member delegation of World Bank officials had interaction with the DCE and inspected a few of the projects executed in the district with assistance from the World Bank and other donor agencies.

Mr Taylor, who was impressed commended the DCE and said that the World Bank would continue to bring in more funds to develop the country and that the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District will not be left out. The projects inspected included the hand-dug well at Breman Kokoso and the 2.1 kilometre road from Nyamebekyere Junction to Nyamebekyere near Amanfopon in Breman North Electoral Area.

The projects on which the DCE briefed them include the construction of three town council offices, five area council offices, rehabilitation of three markets and construction and rehabilitation of 46 schools and KVIP toilet.

Mr Taylor was accompanied by Mr. Tony Fratto , Deputy Assistant Secretary, US Treasury, Mr Alpita Shah, Senior Adviser, Mr Jim Adams, Vice President, Operation, and Mr Mats Kalsson, Country Director, World Bank.

The rest were Mr Michael Ayesu, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Accra and Mr B.M. Oppong, National Co-ordinator, VIP.
