World Travel Awards: Villa Monticello wins Ghana’s Leading Hotel award

One of Ghana’s premier luxury hotel Villa Monticello has for the fifth time been adjudged Ghana’s leading hotel at the 2017 World Travel Awards (WTA).

The hotel was also recognised as Ghana’s leading boutique hotel and Ghana’s leading hotel suite at the ceremony held in Kigali, Rwanda on October 10, 2017.

Since its commencement in 2011, the Accra based hotel has won a total of six coveted World Travel Awards.

The World Travel Awards acknowledges, rewards and celebrates excellence across all sectors of the global tourism industry.

Speaking to GhanaWeb, the Executive Chef at the hotel, Ruby Paintsil said Villa Monticello is a hotel that is leading all the hotels in Ghana.

She said the award for Ghana’s leading hotel suite is an honour to the first President of Ghana, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah as the suite that won the hotel the award is the Kwame Nkrumah suite.

“For us to be able to honour him like this, it’s amazing,” she said, adding that “our mission as a hotel is to be excellent, to make sure that we are not doing mediocre service. We are making sure that what we promise that we will do is what we will do”.

She said the hotel serves as a platform to teach young people to learn something different.

“We want to strive to be that number one hotel in the world so that when they talk about hotels around the world, this has to be number one,” she said.

Villa Monticello has 16 uniquely designed suites, each offering a luxurious personal touch and stylish elegance. The hotel has been recognised by international hospitality and design industry vanguards such as Conde Nast Johanssens, Elle Decoration UK, World Travel Awards and Trip Advisor, receiving the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence every year since 2013.

The hotel was also adjudged Ghana’s leading hotel at the World Travel Awards in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2016.
