The Country HR Manager, Maersk Ghana has urged future professionals to be innovative if they want to become strategic business leaders.
According to Ibukun Janet Ogundipe, professionals must have the ability to use existing knowledge in a new situation to generate new ideas.
She said, “one of the key quotients that has worked for me has been creativity quotient, it is very soft quotient you cannot really quantify creativity but you it does drive a lot of things”.
“In as much we focus on experience, skills, knowledge and data without a sense and passion for innovation then we are nowhere, and I’m talking short term,” she added.
Speaking at the ACCA Annual student’s summit and job fair held here in Accra, Ibukun Janet Ogundipe advised professionals to be inquisitive about things which will enable them to develop their skills to build creativity.
“One of the things that has helped me in my developing my creativity is by asking questions, so by nature I have grown to be inquisitive about things, if I don’t understand something I need to ask, if something is not working or if it is you should be interested in the sustainability of it, how are we going to move from point A to point B in five years, and that is what will build your creative mindset,” she stated.
