Alhaji Alhassan Bukari, the National President of the Ghana Cocoa, Coffee and Sheanut Farmers Association (COCOSHE) has expressed profound gratitude to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Hon. Joseph Boahen Aidoo, for his intelligent handling of matters relating to the welfare of cocoa farmers in Ghana.

He said, he was very much grateful for the new measures the COCOBOD Boss had put in place to ensure easier communication access to himself, and for the concerns of farmers to be addressed promptly.

“Your handling of farmers is exceptional”, he said, “You are the only Chief Executive who has come to visit us. You recognise that without cocoa farmers, there is no COCOBOD. So, we thank you very much.”

Alhaji Alhassan Bukari, who was also a member of the Board of Directors of COCOBOD under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, was speaking as the leader of a delegation of regional chief farmers who met with Hon. Boahen Aidoo, on Thursday, 30th May 2019.

“You are unique,” Alhaji Bukari, told the COCOBOD Chief Executive. “Keep doing what you are doing. What we ask for you is that, the president and the Agriculture Minister, will continue to give you the chance to keep doing a great job for them.”

“After we came to visit you the first time, you came to meet us all again in Kumasi and listened to our views and for that, we are very grateful.”

The COCOSHE National President said the country will benefit immensely if it had more people like the COCOBOD Boss, who has devoted his knowledge and wisdom to help his country. “We thank you for the good work you are doing for Ghana. You have committed your knowledge and wisdom to help your country and for that God will bless you.”

Alhaji Bukari said there is more than enough evidence to show for the hard work that the COCOBOD Boss has embarked upon since he was appointed to the office and that is why he and his delegation of chief farmers are expressing their profound gratitude.

“All of us seated here are representatives of cocoa farmers across the country who are very much appreciative of your good work. We are not interested in politics but the physical evidence of your work.”

“When you were going to open the Sheanut Office in Tamale, for the three northern regions, you called us all to come take part in its official opening. Meanwhile, when anyone has a matter to bring to your attention, they need only report it at the office now and it gets to you. We thank you.”

“Beyond that, you went to Bole, and we are appreciative of what you’ve done there, also. The measures you’ve put in place to help farmers are working.”

So, on behalf of all the farmers, Alhaji Bukari said, I’d like to say thank you and God bless you. We pray that you get the needed support to successfully implement your plans.
