  Continue to pay cocoa ceo more than cocoa farmer and bank of Ghana boss more than the tbill investor. Ghana southern sector lands used for cocoa production do not need fertiliser but funds are hugely wasted there to add to cost . Cocoa farms need rehabilitation to save unattending lands on and not by turning virgin forest lands into cocoa farms. May be the cocoa outputs need more research for better trees.

  The Cocoa rehabilitation program is a scam cocobod use to steal billions of cedis meant for farmers into their pocket. I am a big time cocoa farmer and I can say I have never benefited from the cocoa rehabilitation program though I always see the officers surveying my farm and asking me to fill forms. This year's I rehabilitated 25 hectares but I didn't receive any support but the officers measured and took my data.
  
  Now the solution is to pay farmers well for the produce because we have young farmers who are ready to invest heavily into the production of cocoa. Cocobod is destroying Ghana cocoa with bad policies. If the farmer knows he will get money from the produce what will prevent him from rehabilitating and expanding the cocoa farm? But cocobod officials don't want farmers to prosper to they come in with silly policies which doesn't benefit farmers. Just buy a bag of Cocoa for Ghc2500 and see if any farmers will allow swollen shoot to take over their farm. But when you see you are not getting anything returns despite spending money on the farm then you relax.

  Instead of producing cocoa for the white man to exploit it by buying it cheaply to enrich themselves why don’t we rather focus more on food crops like cereals, legumes, etc. for domestic consumption and export which will yield better economic benefits to the nation than cocoa? Cocoa has been overrated.
