Ghana made a stunning comeback in the second innings with 113 runs for three wickets in 13.5 overs, to overtake Gambia’s 110 runs for five wickets in 20 overs, in the first innings at the oval A.

The win puts Ghana in second position with two points behind Sierra Leone, who are also on two points following their win over Nigeria.

The oval B, which hosted the game between Nigeria and Sierra Leone, saw the Nigerians posting 66 runs for five wickets in 20 overs in the first innings while the defending champions Sierra Leone amassed 67runs for eight wickets in just 15 overs for their first win.

After the first game, the Gambia and Nigeria are without points and will continue their campaign tomorrow with Gambia taking on Sierra Leone whilst Ghana battles Nigeria at the Oval A.

The T20 format tournament is aimed at rekindling the regional competition and to be the pathway for major championship for the 4 nation event. The tournament ends on Sunday January 21.

The competition is being supported by Tullow Oil Ghana Limited.
