9 nabbed for murder

Nine suspected ritual killers have been arrested by the Central Regional Police Command over the recent ritual killings that have happened at Kissi and Besease in the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Municipality of the Central Region.

The suspects are Nana Kwahin aka Maskey, Efuwa Ahema, Kudzo Akpemeku, Kofi Napolean, Egya Attom and Baakeba Alibuna, Theophilus Agbo Kuporlor, Kudzo Aborklu and Philip Kwofie.

The tenth suspect, Shaibu is on the run.

Information has it that, three ritual murder cases were reported on May 31, 2013 in the area.

The victims were Mena Badu, 25 years, Abena Atta, 40 years and an unidentified woman, whose body was found in a state of decomposition.

Briefing DAILY GUIDE on Monday, the Central regional Police Commander, DCOP Ransford Moses Ninson said around 9am on May 31, 2013 a report was received from Kwamena Essuon that Mena Badu had been found murdered on a farm at Kissi Ayewemu road.

DCOP Ninson said that the police proceeded to the scene where they found the dead body and later conveyed it to the Central Regional Hospital Morgue for autopsy.

He further stated that another report was made on the same day by one Dominic Sawyer around 10:20 that another female dead body had been found by some hunters at Kissi Besease.

The regional commander indicated that the police went to the scene and found a dead body believed to be a female lying prostrate and highly decomposed down to the skeleton where the health officials from Kissi urban health centre examined and recommended it to be buried immediately.

DCOP Ninson disclosed that around 9:30pm, a report was again made by Charles Abeka that his daughter in-law, Abena Atta, left for the farm about 7am and did not return and when a search was conducted by community members, she was found dead.

He noted that when the police went to the scene, they found Atta dead on her farm covered by leaves with deep cut on her back and her vagina removed.

The body was then taken to the Central regional hospital morgue for autopsy.

DCOP Ninson appealed to the public to release information about the principal suspect, Shaibu, to the police for his arrest.
