Yaw Amoako, a 28-year-old 'aboboyaa' rider, was allegedly stabbed to death while attempting to break up a fight at Akyem Dwaso in the Eastern Region.

Emerging details reveal that the young man was in a room with his three-month-old fiancée when he heard a disturbance outside.

Upon investigating, he found a young man he knew being assaulted by a group of young men. Amoako allegedly pulled out a belt and began beating the attackers in an effort to intervene.

During the altercation, the suspect, Nana Opoku, allegedly stabbed him three times, leading to his death.

Rainbow Radio's Agya Dan recounted the events leading up to the incident on Nyankonton Mu Nsem.

He reported that Nana Opoku had traveled to another town for a funeral, where he met and showed interest in a young woman. While conversing with her, her fiancé appeared and confronted Opoku about his intentions.

The confrontation escalated, and the young man allegedly summoned his friends, who arrived and joined him in assaulting Opoku.

A week later, at a ceremony in another community, the assailant encountered Opoku again. Opoku confronted him about the previous altercation and informed his friends about the encounter. They then attacked the young man.

At this juncture, Yaw Amoako heard the commotion, stepped outside, and recognized the victim.

He intervened, hoping to separate the combatants. In retaliation, one of the young men, known as Kwesi, retrieved a knife from home and allegedly gave it to Nana Opoku, who then stabbed Amoako three times, resulting in his untimely death.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Kyebi Government Hospital Mortuary, pending further investigations. The primary suspect, Nana Opoku, has been apprehended and is currently facing trial. Kwesi and the other suspects remain at large.
