Armed robber killed

Saltpond (C/R), Feb. 2, GNA - A notorious armed robber who had allegedly been terrorising people in and around Mankessim in the Central Region has been killed.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Saltpond, Police Inspector Patrick Yeboah, Saltpond District Crime Officer said the armed robber had been identified as Pascal Seshie, from Abonko near Mankessim. Inspector Yeboah said the robber attacked a female teacher, Miss Vida Darkoaa on her way to school at Kuntu, near Saltpond and robbed her of a mobile phone and 28,000 cedis.

The Crime officer said shortly after the incident Seshie and two others met one Gabriel Agbenuvor, popularly called Amuzu, caretaker of a coconut plantation at Kuntu and attempted to seize a gun Amuzu was carrying.

He said in the course of a struggle for the gun, it went off killing the Seshie instantly.

The 28,000 cedis and the mobile phone were retrieved during a search on him Inspector Yeboah added.
