Armed robbers attack NDP presidential candidate’s convoy

The Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Alhaji Mohammed Boateng, and his team were reportedly attacked by armed robbers while returning from a campaign event.

According to a report by 3news.com, the incident occurred along the Nsawkaw-Wenchi Road around 8:00 PM when the team was on their way to Sunyani from a rally at Namasa in the Tain District of the Bono Region.

The Bono Regional Chairman of the NDP, Evans Mensah, confirmed the incident, noting that the windshields of some of the cars in the convoy were broken from the attack, and the bodies of the vehicles were riddled with bullet marks.

However, no casualties were recorded.

A complaint has since been filed with the police at Wenchi for further investigations.
