A 19-year-old labourer has been remanded into police custody by the Tema circuit court "A" for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old girl at Ashamang, a suburb of Tema New Town.
Chester Ablor pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement when he appeared at the Court presided over by Her Worship Mariama Samma.
ASP Stanley Dzakpasu prosecuting said on March 9,2016 at about 8 pm, Chester approached the victim and engaged her in a conversation.
The accused later lured her to his room and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
ASP Dzakpasu stated that the father of the victim lodged a complaint at the police station after victim narrated the incident to him.
Police medical report form was issued to the victim for examination and treatment at a public hospital.
The prosecution said Chester, was arrested after the investigation and charged with the offence.
In a related development, a 34-year-old unemployed who is a squatter in Tema Community One also appeared before the same court for defiling a 15-year-old girl.
Abdul Salam, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of defilement, was remanded into police custody by the Court to reappear on August 2, this year.
ASP Stanley Dzakpasu prosecuting, said on June 4,2016 at about 7 pm, the victim complained of having pains and sore in and around her vagina to her mother and requested to be sent to the hospital.
Victim's mother examined her and saw that her vagina was sore and swollen with the clitoris protruding.
The prosecutor added that upon questioning from her mother, the victim revealed that Salam lured her near TFS building in Tema Community One, pushed her to the ground and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her.
Upon hearing this, the victim's father lodged a complaint at the police station after which she was sent to the Police Hospital for treatment.
She was later admitted for seven days at the Tema General Hospital, while Salam was arrested, cautioned and charged after the investigation.
