Chinese murder Chinese

A 52-year-old Chinese, Wianz Len Chen was found murdered by his fellow Chinese national at the Korean Hotel at Community ‘12’ in Tema.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on the incident in Tema on Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Maxwell Atingane, Tema Regional Police Commander said until his death, Chen was a small-scale miner at Dunkwa-on-Offin.

DCOP Atingane said on April 16, Chen travelled from Dunkwa-on-Offin to Accra and picked a Chinese called Long Xianz from the Kotoka International Airport and drove him to the hotel.

He said the following day when the driver of the deceased, Mr Augustine Ampomfi called him on his cell phone there was no response.

The driver became suspicious and rushed to the hotel about 1800 hours to enquire.

DCOP Atingane said when the receptionist used a duplicate key to open the room, Chen was found dead in a pool of blood with a shirt tied to his neck.

He said the where about of Long is unknown, and it is suspected that he might have killed the deceased and escaped.

DCOP Atingane said frantic efforts are being made to get Long apprehended because the police noticed he locked the hotel room and went away with the key.
