Akim Oda (E/R), May 22, GNA - The Akim Oda Magistrate Court has fined Bismark Owusu, a labourer GH¢300 for threatening to kill his father, who advised him to tune down the volume of his radio set. Owusu, who pleaded guilty to threat of death, would in default would be imprisoned for 18 months in hard labour. Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah told the court presided over by Mr Albert Owusu Annor that the complainant, Mr Antwi Berko is a tailor and the father of Owusu, who lived with his son in a family house at Akim Anamase near Achiase.
Inspector Appiah said Owusu developed a habit of turning his radio set so loud that it became a source of nuisance. The prosecutor said the convict father advised him to desist from such behaviour but on May 1, this year Owusu repeated the act and when he was cautioned by the complainant he became offended and pulled a cutlass and threatened to kill the father. According to Inspector Appiah, Mr Berko reported the matter to the police who arrested and retrieved the cutlass from Owusu and was arraigned after investigation.
