Nkawie (Ash), April 14, GNA - The Nkawie Circuit Court presided over by Mr Jerome Noble Nkrumah has remanded Attah Britwum, a communication centre operator at Barekese in prison custody for destroying a writ of summons served on him by environmental health officers. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and will re-appear on April 25.
Prosecuting, Mr P.V. Beru, an environmental health officer at the Atwima-Nwabiagya District Assembly told the court that on March 10 this year, environmental health officers visited Barekese and found that the environment of Britwum's work place were overgrown with weeds. He said when questioned, Britwum hurled insults at the officers. Later, Mr Beru said when a writ of summons was later served on Britwum to appear before the court, he tore the summons into pieces before the officers. A report was made to the police and he was arrested and brought before the court.
