Tarkwa (W/R) Jan. 18, - GNA, A Tarkwa circuit court, presided over by Mr. John Aject Nasam on Tuesday granted bail in the sum of 100 million to Joseph Dadzie 34 for having sexual intercourse with his 14-year old step daughter.
He pleaded not guilty and the court adjourned the case to Monday, 24 January, 2005.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector, Jonathan Adotey of Tarkwa Police said the victim stays with Dadzie and his wife at Effuanta a suburb of Tarkwa.
The victim's mother travelled last year to her hometown Asebu in the Central Region and left her and the husband at home.
Dadzie took advantage of the absence of the mother and had sexual intercourse with the victim who had stayed with the stepfather since she was two years old, and later warned her not to tell anybody else he would eject her from the house.
Chief Inspector Adotey said, the victim's mother later found out that the victim's health condition had changed and therefore, questioned her.
He said the victim told her mother the experience she had had with her stepfather.
The mother then reported the case to the police.
Giving evidence, the victim, who is six months old pregnant said anytime that the mother would travel, the stepfather used money as a bait to have sexual intercourse with her.
She said the stepfather had been having sexual intercourse with her since February 2004.
