An Accra Circuit Court has remanded three persons into police custody for conspiracy to commit crime and robbery.
The three, Lawrence Etin Oluwagbenga, Samuel Uzoma Eromeosele and Nasiru Obaidoo Solomon all students pleaded not guilty and would reappear on June 10.
Chief Inspector K. Adu told the court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh that the complainant in the case is a Nigerian student of Wisconsin University College.
He said on May 23 at about 7.30am, the complainant was alone in his room when accused persons together with one John, now at large attacked him.
He said the accused persons pulled a knife on the complainant and threatened to kill him, if he refused to surrender his laptops and phone.
Mr Adu said the complainant attempted to hide his i-phone 6 phone the alleged robbers inflicted knife wounds on his finger and shoulder and collected it and took away two laptops.
Prosecution said the complainant raised an alarm and some neighbours assisted in chasing the alleged robbers and manage to arrest Lawrence who had in his possess with one of the laptops and the phone while the others managed to flee.
He said the complainant and his neighbours handed Lawrence to the police and during investigations, he mentioned the other accused persons as accomplices and also described their modus operandi to the police.
Nasiru and Samuel reported themselves upon hearing that they were wanted by the police. The three were charged with the offence.
