A 32-year-old driver, who defiled a 15 year old girl in a bush at Mayera, near Pokuase, was on Friday sentenced to ten years imprisonment by an Accra Circuit Court.
Kofi Aboagye, charged with defilement, pleaded guilty and he was convicted accordingly by the Court, presided over by Mrs. Rita Agyemang Budu.
The prosecutor, Police Chief Inspector Grace Bandah, said the complainant was the auntie of the victim.
The complainant and victim resided at Anyaa, near Accra, while Aboagye lived at Mayera, near Pokuase, the prosecutor.
On May 18, this year, at about 1230 hours, the prosecutor said the victim left the house to visit her school mate at Manhia, near Amasaman.
On her way, she met the convict at the Agric Quarters at Pokuase, and he asked her where she was going to because she had missed her way.
The Prosecutor said Aboagye decided to offer his assistance by showing her the way to her friend’s house.
According to the prosecutor, both the victim and convict walked for about one mile and realising that the convict was luring her into a nearby bush, she complained.
Aboagye, according to the prosecutor, told the victim that they would reach their destination soon.
On reaching a spot in the bush, Aboagye had sexual intercourse with the victim who shouted for help.
Neighbours, consequently, rescued her and apprehended Aboagye who was handed over to the Police at Amasaman.
