Tema, July 5, GNA- A circuit court "A" in Tema has imposed two million cedis fine on Mohammed Issaka, a DAF articulated truck driver, whose vehicle bore two different number plates.
Issaka pleaded guilty to deceit of public officer and fixing two registration numbers, GT 2790 H and GR 2409 V on the truck. The prosecution told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that following a tip off, the police arrested the accused driving the vehicle at Tema Community three junction.
Issaka covered one of the number plates with cloth and when the police interrogated him, he could neither give tangible reasons for his action nor produce documents on the number plates. In another development, the court fined Noah Amesadzi, 22, unemployed, six million cedis or four years imprisonment in default. Amesadzai pleaded guilty to stealing 15 boxes of floor tiles and sliding windows valued at 10 million cedis belonging to Mr Asamoah Mensah of the Volta Estate Company.
Chief Inspector Adolphus Okyere said on June 20, Amesadzi stole the items from the company.
