Driver's mate jail for unlawful entry

Tema, Oct. 7, GNA - The Tema Circuit Court 'B' has sentenced Kwabena Frimpong, a driver's mate, who broke into a kiosk at Baatsona, in Accra to eight months imprisonment in hard labour for stealing. He pleaded guilty to unlawful entry and attempting to commit crime and was convicted on his own plea.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Ben Agbedanu told the court presided over by Mr Seth K. Teye that, the complainant, Patricia Annan is a second hand clothes seller and has a kiosk at Baatsona, where she keeps her items.

Inspector Agbedanu said about two months ago, thieves broke into the kiosk and stole some items including ice chest and a radio cassette recorder.

He said Frimpong in September this year, was spotted by some security men who were then on patrol duties in the area, entering the kiosk through its window.

They managed to arrest Frimpong, who was then handed over to the Sakumono Police for interrogation.
