Abomosu, Aug.31, GNA-Eleven young men who allegedly attempted to vandalize the vehicle of Ms. Anita Dosoo, the National Women's Organizer, National Democratic Congress (NDC), at Abomosu on Tuesday rather sustained various degrees of injuries when they got hit by the vehicle in the process.
Seven of the injured are on admission at the Abomosu Health Centre while four others whose condition are said to be critical had been referred to the Enyiresi hospital.
The Medical Superintendent in-charge of Abomosu health centre, Ms. Rosina Adu-Agyei, told the GNA that the condition of the four was such that she had to refer them to that hospital.
An eye-witness told the GNA that the driver of the vehicle drove through a crowd that resulted in the injuries to the victims.
However, Ms. Dosoo, throwing more light on the incident told the GNA that she was monitoring the election at the Presbyterian polling station and around 1530 hours, she felt tired and decided to go and get a little rest.
According to her, on her way to a hotel, she got to "Muna" spot at Abomosu and realized that a road barrier had been mounted by some youth.
Ms Dosoo said as her vehicle approached the barrier, the group signaled her driver to stop and he complied.
The young men then requested her driver to open the doors of the vehicle for it to be searched.
Ms. Dosoo said the group then moved to attack the vehicle breaking the back screen and sensing danger, her driver sped through the barrier and reported the case to the Anyinam police.
